But it’s everything else surrounding the death scenes that feels … err … dead.įirst and foremost The Final Destination fails miserably in the one department where the previous one got most of its raw power: characters! This movie is crammed with faceless, nameless and utterly one-dimensional cardboard characters with as much substance as a white piece of paper. Especially the car wash scene is quite something else. It wasn’t for a lack of trying, because the writers still come up with a neat, little package of cool-looking death scenes.
Final destination 4 – ineptly named The Final Destination – is easily the weakest entry of the entire series. The secondwas by far the most spectacular (that car crash is still, after so many years, very impressive) and the third onewas the most entertaining for it had the best characters (people you actually cared about) and a storyline less predictable than its predecessors.
The first movie was the most original one.
